We are currently accepting entries for the upcoming 2017 Canada International Film Festival. We accept both domestic and international submissions.

Feature Films are films 50 minutes and longer.


Submission Rules and Guidelines
Films should be submitted through FilmFreeway.

Awards and Official Selections are based on overall merits of the films and are at the sole discretion of the jury and programming committee.

Works in progress are accepted.

More than one entry may be submitted. Each must be submitted separately.

Filmmaker will assume shipping costs of screening copy and promotional material to the Canada International Film Festival, if any.

CIFF reserves the right to make any necessary changes in event scheduling, awarding, or programming.

The selection committee' and jury's decisions are final.

Please do not send press kits with your entry.  We will contact you should we need press materials after your film is selected.

Entrants agree to indemnify and hold us, including our employees, our officers, and our partners and affiliates harmless against all claims arising out of entry or participation in the Canada International Film Festival.

All responses by CIFF will be made by email.

Official Selections will be contacted approximately one month prior to the festival.

Held at the beautiful Edgewater Casino in downtown Vancouver from 2009 to 2016, effective 2017 we have transitioned to an awards based, online film and screenplay competition. Films are no longer physically screened for the public. Awards are announced on our official website as well as promoted via Internet.

By submitting your film or screenplay to the Canada International Film Festival you agree that you have read, understood, and agree to all the aforementioned festival rules and guidelines.
