What are the dates of the next festival?
February 19th - February 21st, 2010.
What are the categories of films accepted?
We accept films and screenplays of all categories, lengths, and genres.
What are the deadlines?
Early Bird - May 31st
Regular Deadline - August 31st
Late Deadline - November 30th
Extended Deadline - December 31st
Screenplay Competition - December 31st
What are the fees?
Early Bird - Short: $30 / Feature: $35
Deadline - Short: $35 / Feature: $40
Late Deadline - Short: $40 / Feature: $45
Extended Deadline: Short: $40 / Feature: $45
Screenplay Competition - $30
Student - Subtract $10 from all fees
Is there a student fee?
Yes, you may subtract $10 from your entry fee if you are a student. Please include a photocopy of your student ID with your submission.
How long is a short film?
Films under 40 minutes are considered short films.
How long is a feature film?
Films over 40 minutes are considered feature films.
Should I send a press kit?
No, we select based only on the merits of the films themselves.

How is a film eligible for the Best of Canada Award?
A film is eligible for the Best of Canada Award if any of the key filmmakers currently live in Canada, were born in the country, or if the film was primarily shot in the country.
Will my tape or DVD be returned?
No. Submissions will not be returned.
When will I find out if my film is accepted?
The Official Selections will be announced about one month prior to the festival.
Are there awards?
Yes, awards, and in some cases cash prizes, are presented in all categories for the top films and filmmakers.
What are the acceptable screening/exhibition formats for your festival?
For the submission process, we can screen DVD’s and VHS tapes. During the festival, we can screen films on DVD, most digital video formats and 35mm.
Is there an age requirement for the film festival?
Filmmakers of any age can submit a film.
Can I get confirmation that you received my submission?
Yes, please send a self-addressed stamped postcard.
What additional information do I need to provide for submission as a student filmmaker?
Please include a photocopy of your school ID.
